BABYLON, NY (February 7, 2012) – At the United Methodist Church Nursery School, parent participation is a long-standing tradition and puts lots of smiles on very young faces.

“Parents are free to help in our classrooms at any time,” said director Lisa Murray. “In fact, we encourage family participation. Some parents help out for the entire day and others share a birthday snack or read a favorite story. Sometimes, we have parents who are police officers or firefighters and they visit in uniform. Participation is not mandatory, but many parents enjoy it.”

The school, now in its 41st year, serves 145 families, some with more than one child in the program. The school offers programs for 2 1/2 , 3 and 4 year olds in age-appropriate learning settings.
